Clif Triplett partnered closely with the CIO and IT leadership to lead a comprehensive transformation of the command’s technology strategy, architecture, and governance. His role focused on creating clarity, aligning stakeholders, and building a defensible roadmap that connected technology investments to mission outcomes.
His mandate included:

Conducting extensive interviews across the command
Establishing enterprise architecture and governance frameworks
Creating actionable micro strategies to drive rapid progress
Introducing modern cybersecurity practices, including Zero Trust
Restoring confidence with higher commands and securing funding support

Conducting a Comprehensive Assessment
Triplett led a rapid but thorough review of the command’s IT capabilities, architecture, application portfolio, governance processes, communication practices, and organizational structure. More than 100 interviews were conducted across units to understand operational challenges and mission impacts.
Creating a Mission Aligned Strategic Plan
He developed a detailed strategy that directly tied technology initiatives to mission outcomes, operational priorities, and command level objectives. This strategy provided the clarity and direction needed to secure leadership support and funding.
Developing Enterprise Architecture and Governance Models
Triplett introduced enterprise architecture principles, governance structures, and decision making frameworks that aligned units under a unified operating model. These structures clarified roles, standardized processes, and reduced operational fragmentation.
Introducing Zero Trust and Modern Cybersecurity Practices
He designed and implemented a Zero Trust strategy and architecture that addressed critical cybersecurity gaps and modernized the command’s security posture. This work resulted in the command producing one of the first Zero Trust playbooks adopted and shared beyond the organization.
Creating Micro Strategies to Accelerate Progress
More than 40 micro strategies were developed to provide actionable, focused plans that addressed specific capability gaps. These micro strategies enabled rapid progress, built momentum, and demonstrated early wins to leadership.
Restoring Credibility and Securing Funding
The clarity and alignment of the new strategy earned the command full support from higher headquarters. Additional funding was provided to accelerate modernization, and the command became recognized as a front runner in several strategic initiatives.
